Would recommend
I tried monovision contacts twice - gave up both times because I wasn't able to see clearly far or near. Five years ago, I reverted to glasses. Two days ago, I was fitted with Frequency 55 Multifocal and was extremely surprised by how comfortable the lens fit and how clearly I could see far and near. I wore the lens 10-12 hours on the second day and basically forgot about them as I went about my usual day, which included lots of computer and near reading. I am a believer already and from what others have reported, the clarity will increase. One up for myopic, astigmatic, over 45 year old contact wearers!

Rips
I liked that I could read finer print. HOWEVER Perhaps it's about the shape of my eyes or something, but the these contacts get tiny rips very easily. Occasionally a lens would last up to a month. More often than not, they lasted almost a week, or in the case of this last one, two days. I've worn contacts for over 15 years and have never had this problem. I'm not into extreme sports nor do I have any unusual hobbies. I'm a middle school teacher. If they work for you, great, but be warned. As for me, I'm going back to my Bausch & Lombs.

Would Recommend
I have tried the one for distance, one for reading contact method and it absolutely made me ill. I have used AcuVue Bifocals for the last 5 years and found them to be very comfortable. A month ago my optometrist switched me to Frequency 55 Multifocals. My vision was immediately 20/20. What I really noticed was the distance vision I gained and I can do computer work without reading glasses. I had a difficult time getting accustomed to them as they are much thicker than the AcuVues and were really uncomfortable for several days, but I endured and now do not notice they are in my eyes. My only complaint is that they do not have the numbers to indicate which is the correct side and I find it very hard to figure out if they are wrongside out or not. I wish they would come with a visual indicator. Other than that I am very pleased.

seeing better than ever
I am 58 years old and for the first time in years I can see great. I even can see further than with my previous glasses. My hobbies are reading and needle point, I can actualy see to thread my needle.
